Podar jumbo kids, JP Nagar, Bangalore had its annual day on 10th Feb 2007. The lack of co-ordination of the annual function was appalling. They had trained children for 2 weeks for the various dance programs. My son studies there, and what happenned there was quite shocking to me.
The annual function was held today (10th Feb 2007) in RV teacher's college. When the time came for the Afternoon batch Nursery students' dance, they did not keep track of the children that were supposed to come on stage. When the dance started, I did not find my son on stage. We were expecting him to come on stage any time, and only after the dance finished did we realize that he was not on stage. Immediately after that dance, I talked to the compere, Preeti, she told me incorrectly that it was the Nursery morning batch. She didn't know that it was the afternoon batch that was actually performing on stage. I went backstage and enquired with the class teachers, none of them knew where my son was. They all kept repeating that he was there , as part of the dance troupe and he had just completed his dance.
My wife was pretty disappointed, since Vaibhav had been taken to a bunch of extensive rehearsals and got an upset stomach and threw up when he did not eat properly during an extensive rehearsal day. Not seeing him on stage for the dance for which he had rehearsed extensively (And we are talking about a three year old) was a huge disappointment for my wife. Especially since she was quite happy about him dancing well in that song during the earlier rehearsals.
These people are not very organized
1) They have no way of keeping track of the kids in multiple events
2) They waited for an hour for a chief guest to arrive. And they made small kids wait for a long time for a chief guest to arrive. The chief guest barely managed to spend time there and she had to move away after half an hour
3) Apparently this is a regular feature and earlier (last year) they had missed a few kids as well in the annual function
4) One of the excuses given by the teacher was that my son had taken a toilet break just before the dance. It simply apalled me that these folks who waited for ever for a chief guest to arrive, couldn't wait for a couple of minutes for a small kid.
5) There was a serious security lapse where nobody knew exactly where my son was when the dance was going on, and they didn't have a system of ensuring headcount before, after and during the functions.
